Guess who's Bach

Back from vacation I'll try to serve you at least one audio book each day. Since I met a wonderful French girl, this post is dedicated to French stories. There are some interesting things to find on Spotify.

There are some very interesting albums about the history of the great composers and further down you'll find some classical stories in French. To finish I found some great albums from Louis de Funès @APP.

The Tolkien Ensemble

Not really audiobooks, but so beautiful it's a perfect add-on when reading The Lord of the Rings.

The Tolkien Ensemble (founded in 1995) is a Danish ensemble which aims to create "the world's first complete musical interpretation of the poems and songs from The Lord of the Rings". They published four CDs from 1997 to 2005, in which all the poems and songs of The Lord of the Rings are set to music. The project was approved by both the Tolkien family and HarperCollins Publishers. Queen Margrethe II of Denmark gave permission to use her illustrations in the CD layout.

Eternal Classic Audio Books

Since this is awful, I'm only writing a short message about these stories. There's really some classics to be found. Only problem here is that it's all read by one of those text-to-speech readers and complete devoid of the emotion a tale needs to evolve from a collection of words to a breathtaking story.

A do-over

The way I'm adding books to this list is to slow. I don't have the time to find a introduction to every separate story. So I'm trying a different method. In stead of starting from the stories I'll start from the albums on Spotify. Which is perhaps even a better method. As albums are added to the feed, I'll remove previously placed links that would contain doubles. I hope this way I can provide better and faster information.

H.P. Lovecraft in Symphony

The Stories of H.P. Lovecraft
While searching for "The Doom that Came to Sarnath" I stumbled upon "The Stories of H.P. Lovecraft - A Synphonic Collection". Though not an actual audio-book or play these tracks do tell stories. It's a nice collection and might be a good background for your own H.P. Lovecraft adventures or maybe while reading one of his stories.

New Project

On Spotify I stumbled upon some audio-books of Call of Cthulhu, stories by H.P. Lovecraft which I like very much. I wanted to listen to more audio-books but couldn't find any good resource or collection. With this blog I hope to create this collection and help others find great stories on Spotify.

When I find new audiobooks I'll add them to this blog and try to find others in the series in order.
